PUPILS at a Worcester school have been learning rubbish - but it was all for the sake of furthering their education.
Youngsters from Ronkswood Junior School took part in a "rubbish relay" to raise awareness about the problem of litter.
Ten teams of eight pupils volunteered, in their lunch hour, for the race to pick up as much rubbish as they could.
The event was staged for National School Grounds Week, which is part of the Eco Schools Programme.
"The children had a lovely time and we are hoping to do it as a yearly thing as it went so well," said class teacher and head of the environmental club, Sally Ridgway.
Other environmental projects going on at the school include a competition to design a bin, and growing sunflowers for a competition in September.
