BATSMEN regained the initiative on the second day of Herefordshire's Minor Counties Championship Western Division clash with Wiltshire at Colwall.
After 20 wickets tumbled on the opening day, only six fell yesterday as Wiltshire rattled up a mammoth 458-6 before declaring.
Steve Perrin, who also plays Conference football as a goalkeeper for Forest Green, clubbed seven sixes in his 190 and 25 fours.
Chris Rogers (62), Paul Draper (62) and Dwain Winter (59) also batted well.
Paul Thomas, John Shaw and Nick Davies shared the wickets for Herefordshire as their bowlers toiled for little reward.
Herefordshire were set a daunting target of 480 to win in a minimum of 130 overs, but made a good start to their second innings and reached 54 without loss at the close.
