A WEBSITE designer has been ordered to pay compensation to a man he attacked outside a Worcester nightclub.
Richard Burt admitted assault, even though he could not remember much about the incident, Droitwich magistrates were told.
Mike Cowley, prosecuting yesterday, said Jonathan Cook was thrown out of Tramps nightclub in Angel Place after he was spotted drinking from a bottle of vodka he had taken into the club.
"The next thing he can remember is getting punched and another person kicked him in the face," said Mr Cowley. "He was very drunk."
Twenty-year-old Burt was arrested following the incident, in which Mr Cook sustained a bruised and swollen nose and right eye.
"Mr Burt does not have a strong recollection of the incident but he feels a great deal of remorse about it," said Rashi Narayan, defending.
"He believes there must have been some provocation. He has made a conscious decision to drink less and stay away from situations like this."
Burt, of Stoke Road, Aston Fields, Bromsgrove, was ordered to pay £200 compensation, £118 court costs and comply with an 80-hour Community Punishment Order.
