YOUNG and old will march together this Sunday to celebrate 75 years of Droitwich Spa's Royal British Legion.
Branch members are keen to mark the anniversary and ex-servicemen, Scouts, Guides and a youth marching band will lead a regimental style parade.
The march begins at 11.30am from Station Street and should arrive in Victoria Square at 11.45am.
A service will be held and a new plaque, marking the anniversary, will be unveiled on the town's war memorial.
Mayor Maureen Lawley (Con, Droit.Central) will attend, along with fellow Droitwich Spa town councillors.
The town's legion branch formed in 1924 and began meeting at the Talbot pub, in High Street.
Members later moved to a wooden hut in the Lido Park and for the past 20 years they have gathered at a purpose built headquarters and club, in Salwarpe Road.
Branch secretary and D-Day landing veteran Roy Hewlett said: "The branch has between 400 and 500 members.
"Our main objective is to look after ex-servicemen and their dependants. This is achieved thanks to the annual Poppy Appeal."
He added: "The parade is a big event for us and members have been getting ready for some time.
"We're hoping to see lots of residents showing their support."
The Royal British Legion has been running for 80 years nationally.
