MR David Woodrow (former chief planning officer to Redditch Council) has published a clear and irrefutable explanation of why the Western line was chosen and confirmed after a public inquiry in 1991. This should end furore about alternative routes.
Ten years later and after another comprehensive report by commissioned consultants, nothing has emerged to show that the original decision was incorrect. Nevertheless there are now talks of instructing the consultants to give further consideration into routes 2 and 3a, leading to a possible further public inquiry. Yet more delay and expense!
Why should all the people affected by and using the noisy, congested and dangerous A435, A441 and A448 corridors be forced to wait any longer?
The talking should stop, the money found and the bypass built on the original preferred route now.
