Tributes have been paid to a Wythall teenager who died after his cycle was in collision with with a car last week, writes Matt Smith.
Ryan Pettigrew, 14, from The Hurst, Hollywood, received treatment for his injuries at the Alexandra Hospital but later died.
Police sealed off the site of the accident for more than two hours on Friday so Ryan's friends from Woodrush High School could visit, lay flowers and put up a plaque dedicated to him.
When Ryan was three, he contracted a rare strain of Meningitis called haemophilas influenzae and doctors only gave him days to live but he made a complete recovery.
Ryan was delivering papers in Middle Lane at the junction with Silver Street when the accident happened at about 4.30pm last Wednesday.
