ALVECHURCH is to benefit from some aesthetic improvements during the summer after the parish council agreed to order new benches and planters.
The 'uncomfortable' bench on the village green in Bear Hill is to be replaced, as is one at the top of Snake Lane.
And new benches are to be placed in various spots around the village, including two in the village square.
The siting of the £375 seats is still subject to confirmation from highways officers but they should be in by the end of the summer, said Mrs Lungley.
Earlier this year, plans were mooted for a 'granddad' statue of an old man reclining in a chair.
But following a report in the Advertiser, villagers came forward and suggested something connected with the village's history would be more suitable.
