THE men charged with blasting Worcester Rugby Club into the big time have boomed out the message all supporters wanted, declaring: "We'll get you into the Premiership."
Ben Clarke and Kingsley Jones put pen to paper on one-year deals at Sixways yesterday to continue the club's substantial summer recruitment programme.
The former England number eight and ex-Wales captain both admitted the job of getting Cecil Duckworth's ambitious outfit into the top flight would be a challenge but the duo could not wait to start their Sixways careers.
Clarke, who left Bath after his second spell at the Recreation Ground ended last month, said: "It is a big challenge but as players it is something you look forward to and I cannot wait to start playing.
"We need to adopt a Premiership attitude this season because it is our job to get the club into the top league.
"The important thing for me is not that big-name individuals have come to the club.
"Obviously you need good players to win things but what we need to concentrate on now is becoming a team.
"That makes a much better environment for everyone once you get spirit in a team.
"Even though this is now a professional sport, you have to enjoy what you are doing otherwise you will never find that winning formula."
The 33-year-old dismissed any suggestions that he was now in the twilight of his career, believing he still has another two or three good seasons left in him.
He added: "I'm only just 33 and I played every game last season in the Premiership.
"I am fit and raring to go - I've been training for a month now and with a good pre-season behind me I, if selected, should be in top form."
Jones, who celebrated his 31st birthday by moving to Worcester, is tipped to be the skipper for next season, taking over from Australian Alistair Murdoch.
And the bubbly Welshman, who has been capped 10 times by his country, is not intending on a long stay in National One.
Jones said: "Up until yesterday I could easily have stayed at Gloucester and in the Premiership. I need a challenge and this is a great challenge.
"It is a travesty that the club is not in the top league already and I intend to do everything I possibly can to get us there next season.
"If I didn't think that was going to happen I wouldn't be stood here now."
