A GRIEVING grandfather has hit out at health chiefs after his wife was sent an appointment for treatment months after she died from cancer, writes Becky Procter.
Albert Barr's wife, Jean, died at the Alexandra Hospital in January but was later sent a letter with an appointment date for further treatment at Droitwich Hospital.
The letter came after Mrs Barr had passed away and Mr Barr is still waiting for an explanation from Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs the Alexandra.
A spokesman for Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust said: "The trust sympathises with Mr Barr over the loss of his wife.
"The trust has a responsibility to inform relatives and next of kin of a death and the coroner if the death is unexpected."
