MIDSUMMER madness is set to hit a Rashwood pub tomorrow by sparking up a log fire to mark the longest day of the year.

The landlord of the Robin Hood pub, in Worcester Road, Paul Ryder -- renowned for encouraging eccentric traditions -- is appealing to the public to research and reveal some midsummer traditions of their own.

He said: "I make a point of trying to keep old traditions alive.

"We'll be lighting fires all through the morning and encouraging guests to bring along any midsummer traditions they know about so next year I can have a bigger, better and hopefully cooler celebration."

This year the Robin Hood has already piped in a haggis for Burns night, put scented candles on the tables for St Valentine's Day and come up with some laughable limericks for St Patrick's Day.
