THE newly-formed Trinity High School and Sixth Form Centre is taking part in a pilot scheme to fast-track headteachers.
In association with the National College of School Leadership and the Department for Education and Skills, Marion Barton, Trinity's headteacher, will mentor the associate headteacher.
The first associate headteacher to join Trinity will be John Murphy, currently a deputy headteacher in Herefordshire.
In order to qualify for the scheme, the school was visited by a senior official from the Department of Education and Science and Mrs Barton had to have been recognised by Ofsted as having excellent leadership skills.
