ALVECHURCH were this week expecting a decision from former West Brom star Gary Hackett about replacing Mick Preece as manager.
Hackett has been thinking over the offer while on holiday and director Andy Roberts was hoping for news before the weekend.
The former Aberdeen midfielder has also been offered the assistant manager's job at Redditch United and a similar position at Rushall but is believed to want to be his own boss after unhappy spells at Halesowen Town and Bromsgrove Rovers.
The Lye Meadow revolution continued with the appointment of former Shenley Radford manager Martin Niblett as youth team coach.
