I EMPHATICALLY disagree with Mrs J Young's opinion that Bromsgrove cemetery looks a mess.

On the contrary, it is a credit to the town and to the two council employees who work hard to keep it well tended and in good order.

They do a marvellous job in all weathers to ensure the cemetery is at its best, all year round.

Admittedly the cut grass is not raked up, but to do so, over such a vast area, would be an enormous task, leaving little time for other necessary work.

Most cemeteries are entirely dependent on relatives to keep them tidy, which is probably why so many are overgrown and neglected. Here in Bromsgrove we are fortunate that the hard work is done for us. Our only responsibility is to keep the headstones clean and, let's face it, grass cuttings are easily removed!

Far from being a mess, the cemetery is a well-cared for, picturesque, and tranquil resting place for our loved ones.
