IT is some consolation to know that the Ministry of Education has at last recognised the special urgency of the school accommodation problem in Redditch and has approved the building of another secondary modern school.

Until it is completed in three or four years time fears of overcrowding will continue to exist in schools though the position will be lost when the new Bridley Moor School now under construction is opened in April next year.

Between now and next April the problem will be at its worst.

The many five-year-old children will be unable to gain admission to schools simply because all the available places are filled by older children.
