A WOMAN was taken to hospital after a running battle involving more than 50 people broke out outside a nightclub in Bromsgrove in the early hours of last Sunday morning.
Police, who are appealing for witnesses, describe the incident outside the Euphoria nightspot, in Worcester Road, at around 2.15am, involving two groups of revellers, as "particularly violent."
Sgt Jon Marsden, who is leading the inquiry, said: "A large number of people congregated as the nightclub closed for the evening and it appears that many then became involved in fights along Worcester Road.
"It is imperative that any person with information comes forward."
Officers on standby at other stations in the district were not called on to help their colleagues from the Bromsgrove and Redditch division who were able to contain the incident.
The young woman injured in the fracas was released after treatment at Redditch's Alexandra Hospital.
A man was arrested in connection with a public order offence and later released on police bail.
Bosses at Euphoria could not be contacted for a comment as we went to press.
Anyone with information should contact Bromsgrove police on (01527) 584888 or the confidential Crimestoppers hotline on 0880 555 111.
