DROITWICH Spa Cricket Club's run in the Worcestershire County League knockout cup was ended by Chaddesley Corbett last Tuesday night.
Batting first, Droitwich got a total of 109 which was 20 runs short of a testing score.
In reply, the Chaddesley openers batted carefully to set up an eight wicket victory in the penultimate over. It proved to be a disappointing end to a promising run in the midweek cup.
After Saturday's abandonment at Bewdley, Droitwich will be looking to get back to winning ways on Saturday when they entertain highly placed Pedmore.
After a reasonable start to the season, three successive losses have dented the confidence of Ian Duggan's men.
But with a change of fortune things could quickly turn around. Spa look forward to welcoming back several key players over the next two weeks who have been unavailable.
