DOG-OWNERS in Bromsgrove will soon get the opportunity to work with their four-legged friends.
Animal charity, the Blue Cross Adoption Centre, which runs a sanctuary in Catshill's Wildmoor Lane, is organising a Take Your Dog To Work Day in a bid to stop them being left home alone.
The event, now in its sixth year, is said to be "one of the most popular events in the canine calendar" according to the charity, which is also hoping it will be a fund-raising success.
Scheduled for Tuesday, September 25, the event is set to see career dogs gaining work experience in offices, schools, hospices and factories, and even on the road, as companions to lorry drivers.
The registration is free on the condition that work colleagues raise funds for this good cause.
Everyone who takes part will receive a goody bag and for regular canine workers there's the chance to become the title holder of the Top Dog at Work 2001.
Last year's top accolade went to Max, a teacher's dog from Cumbria, for the role he played in providing children with companionship and affection.
