MEMBERS went on a tour of Stourport-on-Severn and district on June 9.
Places of interest visited included Wilden Church, with its unique set of Morris windows.
Members also visited the Methodist church, which was opened by John Wesley himself, the Redstone caves (an ancient hermitage of about 100 monks) and ended with a guided tour of Areley Kings.
This included the church where Layamon compiled the legends of King Arthur, the Rectory, the Elizabethan Church House, the mysterious inscription on the church wall and the little house built in the Rectory garden.
Thanks to the clergy of Wilden church and the Methodist church for opening specially and to Andrew Wehner for the excellent guided tour of Areley Kings.
The next visit will be to the recently restored Castle Bromwich Gardens on Saturday, July 7.
New members welcome, for further details telephone 541317.
