AT the June meeting, members were asked to give the total number of hours a month they gave working for any form of charity.
This amounted to 303 hours, or 3,636 hours per year, worth £36,360, a staggering amount for a small group of people.
One aspect of WI life on show was the exhibit for the food and craft day at Perdiswell, which included excellent examples of embroidery, patchwork and quilling.
At this rally, president Pam Day's small flower arrangement came third and was awarded a rosette.
Also on show were photographs of the banners consisting of a patchwork of small embroideries, one from each WI depicting the name and where they met.
Speaker Mr J Rogers gave an interesting talk on American showbusiness entitled 'The Road to Broadway.'
A picnic lunch given by Rita and Pete Jordan takes place on July 16, all proceeds for WI funds.
Pam Day won the competition, May Lloyd was second and Carol Garbett third.
Eileen Harris won flower of the month. The next meeting is on July 9.
