THE season concluded with the AGM and the annual dinner. After the business, members gave readings of their choice, ranging from humorous poems to thoughtful prose.
The 18th annual dinner was held at the Quality Hotel. Members and their guests enjoyed a reception with bucks fizz, followed by a superb meal. Master of Ceremonies for the evening was Rhoda Lingard.
President Ian Stalker gave an amusing speech and presented awards to Roger Jauncey, Hazel Bradley and Rhoda Lingard. The president's award for the most improved member during the year went to Dave Cockle.
Special congratulations were offered to recent competition winners Ron Sutton, Hazel Bradley, Pam Nicholls and Pat Langley. Roger Jauncey proposed a toast to the guests and Toni Milnthorpe from Sans Souci Speakers Club replied on behalf of the guests.
The next season begins in the autumn. New members welcome. Call Ian Stalker for details on 550086.
