A WINNING way with words has scooped a Kidderminster mum the chance to go on a shopping spree.
Jane Page, of Kinver Avenue, came up with Weavers' Wharf in the competition to name the new £60 million town centre shopping and leisure development. Jane Page who came up with Weavers' Wharf as the name for Kidderminster's £60 million town centre development which is under construction.
Mrs Page, 45, who works in the sales office of Victoria Carpets, receives £500 and will be a VIP member of the party to officially open the scheme next year.
She said: "This is the first time I have entered a competition. I thought of the name because of the town's strong links with the carpet industry, combined with the fact that the river will be a feature of the new centre. I have been watching the way the work on realigning it has taken place."
Mrs Page, whose husband Clive is a team leader with Beakbane of Kidderminster, said their children, Neil, 24, and Alex, eight, will be helping to spend the cash prize.
Hundreds of readers entered the competition, run by the Shuttle/Times & News in conjunction with developers Centros Miller.
