PARENTS are being warned to be on the lookout for bogus drug information claiming to be from the police, currently circulating in Wyre Forest.

The leaflet on LSD and drug-laced tattoos is not a police document or issued by any other organisation involved in drugs or drug education work. Police say the document, which has appeared in various parts of the West Mercia police force area before, contains many inaccuracies and plays on parents' fears.

A spokesman said: "We have no idea where this information comes from or why it is circulated. It appears to be of a similar nature to bogus information circulated in the force some years ago.

He said police were advising anyone coming across such information to destroy it.

He added: "If you require accurate information about drugs, contact your local police."
