FOOTBALL fanatics have the chance to grab a memento from their favourite club and help a children's charity on Sunday.
An auction of gifts from all 92 Football League teams and England will take place at Stourport's Bridge Inn. Andrew Macdonald, Simon Fryer, Anna Deeley, Andrew Holmes and Kate Moore prepare for the Bridge Inn charity fund-raiser.
It will mark the pub teams' end of season football awards and raise funds for the hostelry's charity, the Acorn Children's Hospice.
Landlord Andrew Holmes said: "At the end of the football season myself and my fiance Kate wrote to all the teams asking for a letter, which we could sell at the auction, with a gesture towards our effort's for the charity.
"We are totally staggered by the response and have shirts and signed photographs, plus a pennant signed by England manager Sven Goran Eriksson."
Mr Holmes and his team-mates hit the headlines last October, when they were stopped by Belgian police on their return from a Euro 2000 football peace-making mission when their coach driver discovered £13 million worth of drugs on board.
The teams, who were innocently caught up in the mystery, have gone on to raise more than £1,000 through a series of fund-raising events for the charity, which cares for terminally ill youngsters.
The event, which also involves the pub's netball teams and Stourport Rugby Club, begins at 7pm. For more details call Mr Holmes on 01299 877475.
