A PLAN to increase the number of houses in a development off Habberley Road in Wribbenhall has been given the go-ahead despite objections from town leaders.
Bewdley Town Council had recommended refusal for the bid to build 10 new houses and turn Warstone House into two dwellings.
David Wilson Homes already had permission for 62 houses but now plans to convert the former gentleman's residence and demolish Springhill Farm to make way for more.
Planning officer Jake Berriman told the town council the farm building was not listed and in a "dilapidated state" and the loss of trees and hedgerows stemming from the revised plans was acceptable.
Seventy-four houses will now be built as part of the development after Wyre Forest District Council's planning (development control) committee gave the plan the green light.
