BRUSHING up on their lines are the members of the Phoenix Theatre group, who present a production in Badsey at the end of this month.
Play On is a play within a play, which follows the progress (or lack of it) of an amateur drama group's production of a Victorian melodrama - Murder Most Foul.
Chaos ensues as just about everything that could go wrong with the play does. Scenery falls down, actors forget their lines and sound effects go haywire.
Val Crane, director of the Evesham-based group, said: "Rehearsing Play On represents an unusual and difficult challenge for the actors as they have to present the same lines in different ways, sometimes getting them wrong or out of order, which is not as easy as it seems.
"However, you can be sure that all the mishaps that occur both on and off-stage in this production happen at sometime or other in the theatre."
You can see Play On at Badsey Remembrance Hall on June 28, 29 and 30. Tickets cost £6 and are available from the Evesham Travel Centre, Port Street, Evesham. There will be a licensed bar and table seating. For more information contact Val Crane on 01386 710341.
