A MAGICAL evening is promised in Broadway as the village holds its midsummer celebrations.
The village green will come alive with a feast of music and magic in what is hoped will soon become an annual event.
Music spanning the 1960s to 1990s comes from Merlyn who will play between 7pm and 10pm, supported by pipers, guitarists and disco dancers and compered by John Southern, Broadway's answer to Frank Sinatra.
Magicians and street entertainers will entertain the crowd and people can come in fancy dress if the summer mood takes them.
They can also bring a picnic although there will be a barbecue and pig roast, cafes and pubs will be open and there will be a selection of food stalls on the green. A raffle will be held with the top prize being a weekend for two in Paris.
Other prizes include a long weekend in a bed and breakfast and two tickets for a Lifford Hall concert of the winner's choice.
Broadway's tourism officer, Dottie Friedli, who is organising the event with Richard Pinder and David Talboys, said: "It should be a good evening and a friendly event.
"We always have such a good night on the late night opening so we thought we would like to do something to celebrate the midsummer as well."
Admission is £3 to include a raffle ticket.
Children under 14 are free. Further details on 01386 853247.
