SENIOR members at Evesham Golf Club celebrated the section's 25th anniversary at a special dinner.
Honoured guests at the event were several past seniors captains and current club captain Gary Bristow.
Norman Beale, Ken Cross, Phil Langstone, Bert Roberts and Frank Davies no longer feel able to compete but their presence reflected their early efforts in helping to establish what has become a flourishing section.
The latter played in the opening seniors event - a greensome stableford played on May 26, 1976 - and he was delighted to be asked to present the prizes after a similar competition 25 years on.
That was one way, remarked current captain, Ray Smart, of commemorating the anniversary.
Commemorative ties were also produced, while the current captain was presented with a new clock for the front entrance. The existing one has failed to function for some time!
Time may have stood still in that respect but the thriving seniors section shows no sign of calling time on its duties to the club's older players.
