Vince Williams, a search manager and member of the Western Beacons Mountain Search and Rescue Team, gave an account of a trek to the base of K2 in northern Pakistan to place a plaque in memory of a cousin Jeff Lakes. With Jeff's father from Canada, Vince endured many days climbing and walking over glaciers and mountain tracks to reach the cairn.
On July 9 at the Community Hall, Shaw Hedge Road, H Burrows will talk on Myths and Legends of the Welsh Marches. All are welcome at 7.15pm.
