I AM not a Roman Catholic, but in reply to George Cowley's letter (You Say, June 15) I would say that it is not pointless for Roman Catholics (or anyone else) to pray for any sick person.
The Pope may be strengthened through the prayers to bear his Parkinson's disease. That could be the "answer" to the prayer.
There also comes a time when the best "cure" is to be taken through death into the resurrection life and many Christians would consider this to be a "healing".
