THE Phillpott File (Tuesday, June 12) says it all far better than I could hope to convey.

It is such a great pity that the apathetic British could not give up their precious TV or whatever, for a few minutes to go out to vote - if not for their future then certainly for their children and future generations, who, if Mr Blair gets his way, will be lumbered with an unelected, undemocratic superstate.

I am happy that as an older man, I may not be around to witness the slavery Labour, in the form of Mr Tony Blair, will be leading us into when we are finally cheated into adopting the euro and all that it entails.

Surely too, it is about time we called "spin" just what it is, "lies". After all, an old saying was "spinning a yarn" meant telling a lie.
