A LEADING light in the BBC Symphony Orchestra will be treating Kidderminster classical musical lovers to a virtuoso performance.
Violinist Robert Bishop, originally from Stourbridge, is in the line-up for Wyre Forest Symphony Orchestra's next concert at the town hall on Saturday, June 30.
The BBC Symphony Orchestra's deputy leader will be playing the "amazing" Violin Concerto by Tchaikovsky, which, according to WFSO spokeswoman Linda Fowler, is "a work of exciting virtuosity and transcending melody".
Also on the programme is Wagner's Siegfried Idyll, from the opera Siegfried which was written for his wife's birthday and celebrating the birth of their son.
Beethoven's overture Leonora (No 3) will open the programme, which will also feature Schumann's Symphony No 1.
The concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets, priced £9, £7 and £5, are available by calling 01562 863503.
