EVESHAM Wheelers club run was well supported last Sunday when 21 members took part in the two runs.
The race training run, led by Dave Purser, took to the hilly Cotswolds through Winchcombe, climbing Corndean Lane to Shipton, Compton Abdale, Yanworth, and Coffee at Northleach.
The return run was through Turkdean, Ford and Snowshill covering 60 miles.
A second run, led at a steadier pace by Colin Grainger, went in the opposite direction through Lower Moor, Bishampton, Flyford Flavell, Huddington, and a coffee stop at Hanbury.
Return was through Feckenham, The Ridgeway and Dunnington to complete 45 miles.
Brian Newton represented the club in Sunday's Reading CC 50-mile Time Trial at Didcot.
On the exposed course on a windy morning, he was pleased to record a best time for the season of one hour 59 minutes and 47 seconds. The winner was Nick Gardiner in 1.44.47.
Ken Haynes also had a successful weekend in the LVRC Regional Championships Road Race at Stourport.
On an undulating course, he won first place in age category. Brian Newton also rode but retired on the last lap.
