FUN-LOVING folk had a wet and wild time during a four-day water and beer festival in Droitwich Spa.
The bash, organised by Droitwich Canals Trust, culminated on Sunday with a raft race.
Five teams dashed across the canal basin in the hope of winning the top prize - 11 gallons of their favourite beer.
Entrants from the Railway Inn pub celebrated victory. They were closely followed by a group from the Hop Pole Inn, Friar Street.
The festival was based at the Railway Inn, off Kidderminster Road. Attractions included an Irish night, a duck race, dancing, a jazz concert and a pig roast.
There was also a growers' market in Vines Park.
Festival organiser Peter Quick estimated that more than 2,000 people attended the event.
He told the Advertiser: "Despite the vile weather, the weekend was an amazing success, especially the water festival.
"We will definitely be planning a similar bash in the future - with improvements."
More than £500 has been collected so far. Cash will go towards a £100,000 project to restore three locks at Hanbury Wharf.
