DEDICATED followers of fashion may wish to immerse themselves in the history of clothes this weekend in Castlemorton.
Members of the Outer Limits Youth Group and Sunday School in Longdon, Castlemorton, Bushley and Queenhill have put together a fashion show that shows far more than just what's 'in' this season. In fact, it goes back to the autumn/winter collection of 2,000 years ago.
Outfits through the ages, from Roman times to the present day, will be modelled by 24 youngsters at St Gregory's Church tomorrow (Saturday) at 7.30pm and Sunday at 2.30pm.
Many of the outfits are original and include authentic pieces borrowed from private collections. Some of the most notable contributions come from a collection belonging to Marion Shields, which came to light following her tragic death in a car accident last year.
Sarah Musgrave, the show's organiser and a friend of Ms Shields, said: "She was interested in medieval and Tudor history and made costumes for re-enactments that she did, the inspiration for the show really came from her.
"It seemed a shame for them to just go in storage, so we built the show around the costumes."
The Malvern Theatre Players have also loaned costumes for the show.
Proceeds from the event will go to church funds. Tickets for the Saturday performance are £5 and include wine and canaps. Tickets for the Sunday performance are £3, and include tea and cakes.
