LOOKING for work is set to be a revolutionary experience for jobseekers in Malvern.
The town's Jobcentre, in Portland Road, has become one of the first in the county to be equipped with new touch screen computers called Jobpoints.
Instead of scanning a wall of white printed cards for jobs, jobseekers can view more than 400,000 vacancies throughout the country and Europe on one of four easy to use touch screens.
The Jobpoints are constantly updated and once the job has been filled the vacancy is immediately removed from the database.
The computers have a range of features to help people in their search, such as job type, location and hours so applicants can find out all about the vacancy before applying.
Martin Howe, Malvern Jobcentre manager, said this was a much better system than pinning up printed cards.
"The best thing is that people can access the complete national database," he said.
"You can search by occupation or area and there's a map facility so that if you're looking for a job in London, for example, you can pick out the area of London you want.
"The best thing is that you can find so many more jobs on this computer. We simply don't have the room to display all these jobs with the cards."
Jenny Cutler, aged 17 from Cradley, was using a Jobpoint for the first time this week.
She said it was very easy to understand.
"I think it's a very good idea. I'm looking for a job in retail to support a retail course I'm going to be starting in September. This is a very good and an easy way of looking," she said.
