MALVERN and Ledbury businesses suffering because of foot and mouth are being urged to attend a seminar to help get them back on their feet.

The meeting - hosted by the West Midlands Area policy unit of The Federation of Small Businesses - is being held at the Feathers Hotel in Ledbury on Monday at 7pm.

Small businesses will be able to discuss problems caused by the crisis with each other and meet councillors, economic development officers and representatives from Advantage West Midlands.

The meeting follows a survey of 11,000 West Midlands businesses in April, which showed that the disease had hit companies not directly involved in agriculture and tourism just as hard. Federation spokeswoman Diane Rayner said: "This is the beginning of the Federation doing something about getting help in place for small businesses in the Ledbury and Malvern area."
