Malvern recorded the highest concentration of break-ins in the county during the past month.
The spate of thefts has prompted police to issue a waring to homeowners to keep their doors and windows locked, even if they are in the house or garden.
Between April 1 and the end of May, 17 homes were broken into in Malvern, with access gained via an insecure door or window.
A total of 58 similar burglaries were reported across South Worcestershire over the same period.
Once inside, burglars tend to go for the easy pickings - cash, handbags and mobile phones that have been left lying around.
Police spokesman Vicki Davies said there was no particular reason for more Malvern homes being targeted more than elsewhere in the county.
"It's not because houses in Malvern are more isolated. The nature of these burglaries is that they're in and out very quickly and they just take their chance if they see a door or window open," she said.
"It's possible people might be more complacent in Malvern because it has the lowest crime rate in the West Midlands.
"These thieves will come in through your back door while you're sitting in the living room watching TV. Or they'll sneak in through a window while you're out in the garden, they're so quick.
"Even if it's hot, don't leave your windows open, and lock the doors."
