PERSHORE'S openers thrashed the Ramblers attack for 37 in five overs before Harry Knight bowled Hickey for 27.
PERSHORE UNDER 13S v MALVERN RAMBLERS UNDER 13S
Bales and Doust continued to score freely helped by wayward bowling and slack fielding and both reached the compulsory retirement score of 30. Cutts continued to add to the Pershore score but Dominic Taylor claimed two wickets and Jon Dovey produced three accurate overs to restrict Pershore to 147-5, which left Ramblers with a challenging target.
The visitors' reply started badly with Alistair Hall and Jon Dovey being dismissed cheaply but Adam Croad and Will Bayliss scored briskly in adding 55 in six overs. Bayliss fell for a well hit 24 before Tom Poole and Dominic Taylor kept up the momentum with useful contributions.
Croad was bowled for 28 but Ian Hughes then took charge and with help from Mark Griffiths and Jamie Blackmore kept Ramblers in the hunt.
The whole game hinged on the last ball, Doust bowled accurately and Hughes was unable to score the boundary needed leaving Pershore the winners by five runs in an exciting game.
COLWALL U11S v
WORCESTER NOMADS U11s
COLWALL under 11s travelled to Nomads last week and after a delayed start were soon in the field.
Nomads started batting confidently and were soon in their stride adding 29 in the opening four overs. Colwall then bounced back with wickets for Stephen Coffey, David Doherty and, his first for the team, from Gareth Taylor.
Nomad's batsmen then reasserted themselves and pushed the score on, despite losing further wickets to Coffey, Christian Elsden and Alex Johnson (2). The final score of 271 was a fine total to defend.
In reply, Colwall' s batsmen found runs difficult to come by because of the accurate bowling.
Only Elsden, with 15, and Coffey, top scorer with 17, made much of an impression. With six wickets conceded, Colwall's final total was 235, leaving Nomads winners by 36 runs.
MALVERN RAMBLERS U11 v
KEMPSEY U11
RAMBLERS got off to a confident start with the opening pair of White and Blackmore putting on 32, Cambell and Spicer added 29 and the third pair of Coles and Bowen took the score to 280 without loss.
Hooper and Sharp managed to put on 27 despite being run out twice due to some optimistic calling, Hooper top scoring with 37, and the visitors were left with a target of 308.
Kempsey in reply couldn't keep up with the run rate and were pegged back by some good all round bowling. Hooper, White and Cambell each took two wickets and the visitors finished on 238, Hoskins top scoring with 15 to give Ramblers a well deserved victory.
Malvern Ramblers would like to thank Gibb Ltd for their continued support.
