A TALENTED Malvern schoolgirl will be demonstrating her musical skills on the violin at a free concert tomorrow evening (Saturday).
Zhannat Shoinbekova is a 16-year-old pupil at St James's School in West Malvern, where she has been studying since 1999.
Before arriving in England she won junior competitions in the Ukraine and Lithuania and succeeded in several British competitions under the tutorship of Jacqueline Ross, head of instrumental studies at Birmingham Conservatoire.
She has also won the Instrumental Solo (16 and under) class of the Elgar Choral Festival and she came second in the Chandos Orchestra's competition for Musician of the Year 2001.
The concert will take place in the Oakdene Centre at St James's School from 8pm to 9pm.
The programme includes Beethoven's Sonata in G major, Vocalise by Rachmaninoff and Debussy's Sonate.
