I FEEL that the letter from N Taylor (You Say, June 16), explains to us exactly why we haven't got proportional representation and why we are unlikely to get it.
In his/her interpretation of the recent election, Labour would have a majority of 60 over the Conservatives. But the Liberal Democrats with 121 seats would have the power.
No Government would be able to set a manifesto and expect to carry it out.
Consequently, we would be like other countries, continually holding elections.
Surely, every four years are enough for anyone. A lot of people stayed away at this election. How many would vote if we had one every two years or less?
JOHN NORWOOD, Kidderminster.
