WORCESTERSHIRE are poised to parade one of the youngest players ever to appear in County Second Eleven cricket.
He is highly-rated wicketkeeper-batsman Steve Davies, who will play for the New Road club in Monday's Second Eleven Trophy match at Hampshire -- just a week after his fifteenth birthday.
Davies, of Offmore Farm Estate, Kidderminster has been groomed by New Road wicketkeeper Steve Rhodes and is being tipped as a budding star of the future.
"I am excited about playing on Monday," said Davies, who is described by the County's Director of Cricket Tom Moody as a "more than capable" left-handed opening batsman.
He has played for Kidderminster's first and second teams in the Birmingham League as well as representing Worcestershire at age group level from under 11 to 17.
