A FORMER Worcester schoolgirl has proved she is a morning person as part of her media and communication degree.
Katy Stenson, (right) of Nuffield Close, St John's, has just completed two weeks as a researcher on the popular daytime television show This Morning.
The 21-year-old aspiring director took calls from people wanting to speak to the show's resident experts and carried out research for the presenters, Fern Britton, John Leslie, Judy Finnigan and Richard Madeley.
"The placement at This Morning was useful because now, if I applied for a job as a production runner on a television programme, I would know what to do," said the former St Mary's Convent girl, who took her degree at Edge Hill College of Higher Education in Ormskirk, Lancashire.
The college encourages students to seek work placements to boost their practical experience.
"It's a really varied job," said Katy.
"I'll be looking to work as a runner or researcher initially but eventually I'd like to go into directing because I'm interested in the technical side of things."
She is now due to take a trip to Europe before collecting her degree award at Lancaster University on Thursday, July 12.
