I CAN well understand the concerns voiced by people travelling from Kidderminster to Worcester for health care.
However, the days of having local hospitals every 15 miles is well gone. With the development of advances in critical care with the need for specialist doctors, nurses, departments and equipment and so on, it is not possible to provide these services in every town.
These increasingly complicated treatment and care procedures need to be provided in specialised centres. There is more to care than having a hospital open - you need to look at the bigger picture.
