WORCESTER workers from a national gas pipeline company stuck their oars in for charity at a rowing competition.
The Transco staff joined oars with offices and depots in Birmingham and Wolverhampton to raise money for cerebral palsy sufferers.
Drummer Joshua Rollins, aged 10 from Worcester, beat a rhythm on the boat for his father Chris and the rowers to follow.
The 17-strong team took to the water at the Dragon Boat Challenge at Dudley's Himley Park with the aim of raising £4,000.
Each of the three heat races were accompanied to the tune of Hawaii Five 0, and the Transco team went through to the semi-final.
"The whole point of the day was that the winners were the kids charity," said Davis Walker, a spokesman for Transco. "It was a super day with good weather and it was all done in good spirits."
The money, raised through the teams' sponsorships will be donated to KIDS West Midlands. The event was supported by the Dragons Alive organisation which provided all the boats and safety supervisors.
