WORCESTER was the hottest spot in Britain yesterday, with the thermometer hitting 91F (33C).
And four-year-old Tal Baker-Phillips found the best way to keep cool on the hottest day of the year so far was under the water sprayers at Worcester Racecourse.
A hot, dry south-easterly wind added to the heat, and high humidity levels meant a sticky and oppressive atmosphere - although Worcester escaped the storms that hit elsewhere in the country.
There is more dry, warm weather on the way, with temperatures of 77F-79F (25C-26C) forecast for the weekend, and a "good deal" of sunny weather predicted for next week.
