MOTOR SPORT: There was double joy for two Kidderminster drivers involved in national competitions.
The town's Lee Bennett stormed into the lead of the UK Monoposto 1600 Championship on Saturday.
And a charging drive from team-mate Francis Phillips saw him win the weekend's Monoposto 2000 race.
Bennett, driving a Lola Ford, qualified in pole position for his competition.
And he took a lights-to-flag victory at Brands Hatch to net his second win of the season.
Bennett, backed by Kidderminster bar Redwoods, now leads his championship by six points from Adrian Wight. The next round is at Lydden Hill on July 15.
Phillips, in a Ralt Ford, has also won two races this season and is set for an overseas contest at the Belgian Grand Prix circuit of Spa.
