TENNIS: The appointment of Cliff Brewer at Stourport Tennis Club is a sign of the club's determination to produce a steady flow of juniors to reach club standard.
A coach for 27 years, Brewer will also run courses for club members to increase the overall playing standard of the club.
He has a two-year development programme to implement.
Brewer played for Northamptonshire at both junior and senior level and played veterans tennis for Gloucestershire.
He is currently in the Herefordshire and Worcestershire veterans team.
All the club's county league teams now begin a busy second half to the league programme and the club tournament starts on Saturday.
In the Kidderminster League, the Men's B team beat Alveley 3-1.
Graham Ashmore and Nick Mantle each won two matches with Roger Houldsworth and Oliver Tombes taking one.
