AN application for another 14 car boot sales a year on a field near Studley has prompted anger from nearby residents.
Booters already gather on 14 Sundays a year on a field off the Slough but organisers have requested to double the number of sales on that site.
Last week, Studley Parish Council objected to the move, citing serious traffic problems.
The parish council had received complaints from residents near the top of Station Road and Brickyard Lane saying traffic and parking was chaotic when the sales are held.
At a meeting last week, one resident told how he had asked one shopper who had parked outside his house for his address so he could return the compliment.
Parish clerk Dot Mitchell said: "Although the sales are held in the parish of Sambourne they do affect Studley because the traffic is horrendous."
But sale organiser Jeremy Quinney said he has permission to hold 28 sales a year anyway but they were split between two adjoining fields.
He said he was merely applying to hold them all on one field.
"Last year, we only held 17 car boot sales because of the weather, but this is going to make no difference because we can legally hold 28 sales a year anyway," added Mr Quinney.
"The car boot sale puts Studley on the map and brings a lot of business to the village."
