BARNARDS Green 1st XI lost by four wickets on Saturday when they visited Feckenham in a Worcestershire League Division Two game.
BARNARDS GREEN 1ST XI v FECKENHAM 1ST XI
The Green lost the toss and were put into bat. They made a solid start with the in-form Richard Williams (47) and Jez Clarke (21) putting on 56 for the first wicket. A misjudged run by Clarke often looking good, was the start of all the Green batsmen getting themselves into situations that would put the Green into a strong position. Phil Divito (24) and Paul Drinkwater (23) also looked good, but Drinkwater followed Martin Heaton (10) in running himself out.
With wickets falling at regular intervals, Kevin Golder also ran himself out. Chris Hill (17no) made useful runs at the close. At the close the Green were 173-7 after their 50 overs.
Feckenham lost Monk and Ashead early on but useful knocks from Roos (38) and Penny (47no). Four dropped catches were the Green's downfall as the home side reached their target in 37overs. Ian Scullion (2-59) off 13 overs, David Creese (2-67) off 17 overs and Tim Clarke (2-22) off six overs all bowled well.
The Green need to improve their game in many areas before tomorrows (Saturday) local derby with Malvern Ramblers.
