CHASING 256 to win, Droitwich Spa CC's First XI completed an enthralling victory on Saturday with two balls remaining.
Mike Rogers took ten off the final over to clinch the 20 points - much to the delight of the packed Droitwich pavilion.
High-flyers Pedmore were the visitors to St Peter's Fields and were invited to bat in this Worcestershire County League Division One match.
Spa welcomed back Rogers from university and he bowled a steady opening spell, as did First team debutant Anthony Small.
But it was difficult to stop Pedmore scoring consistently on a wonderful batting track.
With ten overs to go they were looking good at 177-4.
But Mike Wallis and Mike Gunston (3-81) kept the target within reach.
In reply, Spa started positively, taking 49 from the first eight overs before Geoff Ford was unluckily dismissed for 14.
Stuart Bryan and Nigel Haddock (32) continued in the same vein before skipper Ian Duggan put the bowling to the sword.
When Bryan was run out for a well-crafted 73 and Duggan went for 43, Spa required 63 from the final ten overs with six wickets left.
Gunston and Steve Walsh both scored 25 to put Spa into a winning position.
A sudden flurry of wickets led to a nail-biting finale before Rogers's cameo saw Droitwich home.
The Firsts travel to Pershore this Saturday.
